Slow wear tread compound with Alternative Bridging Technology
Alternating Bridging reinforces the rigidity of tread blocks. With rigidity enhanced, the tread blocks move less freely, reducing the rate of tyre wear. This "Bridge "connection between tread blocks limits their flexibility, preventing rapid tyre wear without compromising on wet grip.

Silica Based tread Compounding
Silica Based tread Compound reduces friction between the rubber molecules generating less heat. With less heat generated, less energy is lost, thus reducing fuel consumption.

The new formulation of micro resilient tread compound provides a firm grip with the road surface which helps to reduce the braking distance in dry condition and thus contributes to reducing accidents and improving safety. This tread compound also lasts longer giving more mileage potential.

Wet Grip Elastomer is a high dense polymer that is extremely flexible. It conforms to the slightest bump in the road and breaks the water film covering the road.

Long Lasting Elastomer

Long Lasting Elastomer is a polymer characterised by a high resistance to wear. On each revolution of the wheel, the tread compound stretches and flexes allowing it to grip the road surface without tearing the bonds in the tread compound.
MICHELIN Pilot Sport 3 owes its remarkable mileage potential to this polymer.



Silica

Silica is a material characterised by its low energy loss. At each turn of the wheel, it allows the rubber to efficiently transmit the power of the engine virtually without loss.
